Molecular Results Interpretation

What is molecular testing?

In a nutshell, molecular testing (or diagnostics), are a group of tests that analyse the genetic material in a sample. These mutations can be used to identify genetic risk factors or to provide evidence of certain diseases.

Every year, new mutations are discovered and the information we gain from molecular testing increases. For some diseases, genetic mutations are a crucial part to making a diagnosis and for other diseases, it can dictate treatment. After finishing treatment, molecular testing can be used to determine whether remission has been achieved.

Even going further, your expected life span with a disease can be predicted. Naturally, this is a significant concern for folks receiving their results and will have significant impacts on your life choices.

I can take the time and go through your results and help you understand your choices should you have questions with your diagnosis and prognosis.
